Make these Almond Cranberry Salted Chocolate Bark. Easy beautiful edible gifts in 10 minutes.
It’s that time of year again – gifting time! I do not celebrate Christmas, I just enjoy joining in the joy of the year end festivities and gifting. I’m not very good at gift shopping – I always struggle to think of what to get someone & the frugal me dislike the thought my gift being stored away and never used.
I personally think the best gifts are edible ones. However most of the time, the edible gifts are unhealthy commercial sweets or cookies. One or two of these is OK, too much of it will make you feel unhealthy. The good news is there are many healthy and delicious edible gifts you can make. Friends who received my Passion Fruit Vinegars last year, kept requesting for them. Sorry, I make different gifts every year. You can get more ideas on my posts Homemade Edible Gift Ideas and 30 Healthy Dessert Ideas. People love receiving gifts when it’s been made with love. Yes, I know you don’t have time to make your own gifts, neither do I. But a lot of them are sooo quick and easy, like my previous No Bake Coconut Cranberry Seed Bars recipe. And so are these Chocolate Bark. You can make them in bulk, and add personalised topping. Continue Reading →
I’ve gone into 2 weeks of hibernation. Wish I could say I was away on an island holiday. I just need to stay away, to plan and re-strategise on how to improve the site for you readers. And I’m back with an easy and sweet recipe. 2 ingredients (only chocolate and water) and 5 minutes later, you will be eating an amazingly rich Chocolate Mousse, guilt free with the purest chocolate flavor. This has to be the easiest and best chocolate dessert. Period. Continue Reading →
I’m in a rut. I’m not in any mood to make any Chinese New Year goodies at all. My usual favourites – peanut cookies and bak kwa (dried meat) doesn’t turn me on. Don’t get me wrong. I have a sweet tooth and am a big snack eater. Something is just not turned on this year. The only thing I felt like making is this deliciously chewy (and healthy) Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies. Baileys Banana Chocolate Ice Cream. This is the world’s easiest ice cream. It takes literally 5 minutes to put together, only 4 ingredients and the best – without an ice cream maker! *happy dance*
Using good quality chocolate makes a big difference in the flavour, use either chocolate bar like Lindt or couverture chocolate such as Callebaut. The banana gives the ice cream a smooth, creamy consistency and provides the sweetness, so use a nice, ripe one. The ice cream keeps for weeks in the freezer with perfect smooth consistency. A few weeks back, my good friend R rang me up to rant. His cousin who have major health issues with 3 stents placed in his arteries (stents are tubes placed into blocked arteries to help the blood flow) and very overweight. R encouraged his cousin to start with short routine exercise as R have lost a lot of weight by doing so. Cousin’s wife reply: No time to exercise. Continue Reading →
Every now and then, I do crave for rich & creamy desserts like cheesecakes. When I do come across recipes I like, I try to make the recipes lighter & healthier. The baked cheesecake requires patience (which I don’t have when it comes to baking) and lots of spare time. This is a quick and simple no-bake dessert that is slightly healthier, that you would happily indulge. And doesn’t these No Bake Ricotta Cheescake Bites with Pecan Base and colourful toppings make a pretty dessert? Continue Reading →
Everyone loves Nutella, especially my sister CM. She would eat nutella by the spoonfuls.. so I thought why don’t I make a homemade healthier version for her with real good quality ingredients. (I think by now some of you know how obsessed I am about making things from scratch). Well, it’s basically chocolate + hazelnut spread, the recipe I found online is similar to any nut butter recipe. I’ve made Almond Butter & Honey Roasted Walnut Butter. And with my new Kenwood food processor, it shouldn’t be a big deal.. or so I thought Continue Reading →
I haven’t met anyone who doesn’t love Banana Bread. Or anyone who doesn’t love baked goods.

Cold and sweet. Rich and creamy. Slurped through a straw. My taste buds do double takes. How can this be avocado? Before I can figure out the answer, my glass is empty. Here at the famous Kafe Warisan in Bali with my galpals, I had my first unforgettable rich Avocado Shake served with chocolate syrup dripped on the side of the glass. The green landscape before me is of rice paddy fields, abundant bananas and falling coconuts. But avocados? Who invited them? Continue Reading →
My friend Ash couldn’t stop gushing about raw food after she came back from the 2 weeks Inner Dance Raw Food Retreat in Philippines. She was so radiant and full of energy. When food is eaten raw, our body will also absorb the life force of the food at its raw state and hence giving us more energy. I look forward to Ash bringing the Raw Food workshop to KL in August.
